The recent European Ocean Days in Brussels (March 3-7, 2025) highlighted a crucial message: the interconnectedness of rivers and oceans. Restore4Life, as a vital part of the Danube and Black Sea Lighthouse within the EU’s Mission Ocean and Waters, was proud to be part of this collaborative effort.
Dedicated to a thriving future, the Danube and Black Sea Lighthouse currently constitutes of 8 projects, which champion the protection and restoration of our waterways. Like our fellow Lighthouse projects – EcoDaLLi, DANUBE4all, DALIA, DaWetRest, iNNO SED, Sundanse and DANSER – Restore4Life understands that sustainable solutions require a holistic approach. By working together, we can address the challenges facing the Danube River Basin and ensure a sustainable future for both our freshwater and marine environments.
We recognize that healthy wetlands are essential for a healthy Danube, and a healthy Danube contributes to a thriving Black Sea. Our work in restoring Danube wetlands, floodplains, and coastal marshes directly impacts the quality of water flowing into the ocean.
Restore4Life remains committed to working alongside our partners in the Danube and Black Sea Lighthouse to drive innovation and action for a healthier Danube and Black Sea region. We extend our gratitude to the organizers of European Ocean Days and our fellow Danube Lighthouse projects for their shared dedication to a sustainable future!
