Episode 1: Unearthing the Roots of Restoration with Mihai Adamescu

For our inaugural episode, we couldn’t be more excited to sit down with Mihai Adamescu, the Project Coordinator for Restore4Life. With a PhD in Biology, Ecology and Sustainable Development, Mihai heads the Research Centre in Systems Ecology and Sustainability at the University of Bucharest. He’s been at the helm of multiple Horizon 2020 projects and has coordinated over €11.5 million in project budgets, leaving an indelible mark on numerous Natura 2000 sites.

In this first episode, Mihai shares his personal journey into wetland restoration research, revealing whether he always envisioned himself at this intersection of science and sustainability. We tackle the biggest challenges facing wetlands today, explore the tension between development and nature, and uncover how Restore4Life is directly contributing to the solutions. Mihai offers his unique academic perspective on the most urgent needs to amplify restoration impact and paints a hopeful picture of what truly impactful change looks like.
